CRIX International is dedicated to providing a common infrastructure and a suite of services that accelerate and streamline the interaction between organizations and regulators involved in drug development throughout the world.
About Us
We are a privately funded, not-for-profit organization committed to collaborating with our entire community of potential users and supporters.
Our goal is to build upon the visionary work of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the CRIX Community as we develop a next-generation infrastructure and suite of services.
We have formed a North American Advisory Council (NAAC) comprised of a broad array of community representatives, and will soon establish a similar group in Europe.
Community
Represented within our community are hospital groups, patient advocates, academic research centers, trade and standards-setting organizations, and industry service providers. The CRIX Community is constantly growing, and our goal is that it will embrace all organizations involved in, supporting, or overseeing clinical research.
Services
We are currently building upon the National Cancer Institute's FIREBIRD source code, pilot expiriences, and user requirements documentation to accelerate a full-scale deployment of an extended application that meets additional industry needs.
We will bolster the security, scalability, and architectural features of the application and associated data repositories to support future deployment of other services that can benefit the community.
We recently hosted a user requirements summit in New York, and plan to continue close collaboration with our community of users. A version of the FIREBIRD-based application will soon be deployed in an accessible test environment.
Benefits
Recent advances in drug development are largely responsible for the remarkable progress in treating many of the most deadly threats to our health. By unleashing the power of a shared technology and services infrastructure, we will foster enhanced collaboration between regulators and business partners, allowing for new research possibilities.
- - Less time on paperwork means more time devoted to improving patient outcomes
- - Lower transactional costs mean more money for research
- - Electronic exchange reduces the chance for human error
- - Faster communication means faster new treatments for patients
- - Easier processes encourage greater participation in life-saving clinical trials
CRIX International is devoted to making the promise of these benefits a reality in the months and years ahead.
