CRIX International Announces Northrop Grumman As Operational Support and Security Services Provider

CRIX Technology Platform, an Electronic Collaborative Suite of Services for Clinical Research, to Go Live in Early 2008

Reston, VA - October 15, 2007 - CRIX International - the Clinical Research Information eXchange - today announced that Northrop Grumman will provide support and security services for the CRIX technology platform, a collaborative research environment for the drug development industry.

Northrop Grumman will provide operational support for the platform, including hosting, security, scaling, credentialing users and help desk support for the CRIX platform, which will be fully operational in early 2008.

"The CRIX platform will encourage the easy sharing of clinical research and information in order to speed new therapies to market," said James Bland, Executive Director of CRIX International. "Northrop Grumman has the industry knowledge, a flexible approach to technology solutions, and access to a wide range of drug development professionals."

The CRIX platform has gained wide industry support throughout the course of its development. CRIX has been working with industry leadership groups such as the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC), and several leading life sciences companies to develop solutions for clinical collaboration. CRIX was formed through initial capital contributions from Pfizer, Amgen, and Novartis.

"CRIX's commitment to leveraging technology to accelerate and streamline the work process for life sciences organizations will help to create a better, more efficient process for global development of medical therapies," said Michele Kang, vice president of Health and Human Services for Northrop Grumman's Civilian Agencies group. "Northrop Grumman's support services will help the CRIX platform run as smoothly as possible, enabling widespread industry adoption."

The CRIX platform will provide life sciences organizations with a suite of services that will offer more efficient clinical work processes; lower operational costs; reduced development expenses; faster and increased access to information; and faster drug development times. CRIX will enable the standardization and electronic transfer of data that will speed the development and approval process of clinical trials. The platform will also match patients to trials in both the public and private arenas. CRIX will continue seeking operational partners to facilitate the development of the CRIX technology platform and associated services.
